Peat Burning...

While in Ireland and Scotland we fell in love with the smell of a peat fire burning.  We romped, or frolicked as Adam said, around in a peat bog in Connemara, Ireland.  We were welcomed each and every morning to the smell of a peat fire burning in the front parlor of the Argyll Hotel on Iona.  Sigh....

While at the Failte Shop in Lexington KY, we bought a peat burner that you use inside.  Little candle-ish sized house that you can put a wee piece of peat under and smoke comes out the chimney.  ADORE.

I lit it for the first time today and TA-DA the smell of a peat fire is wafting right in my very own kitchen!  We have peat bricks that we use in the chimnea on the patio too. We will fire that up at the St. Patrick's celebration this weekend.

Just had to share. This goofy little peat burning house brought me joy today.  Thank you Lord for the whisps of joy you are sending my way.
